What this page covers
This describes the cookies and browser storage MaybeYay itself uses. It does not cover cookies set on other companies’ websites.
Strictly necessary storage
MaybeYay does not set a server session cookie. To create an invitation, the browser keeps your progress in sessionStorage: names, vibe, activities, dates, message, email, language, and — after you create a draft — the invitation slug, path and signed management token. On a recipient device the browser may also store the chosen activity, time slot, answer and a one-time celebration flag. That storage is needed for the flow you asked to use and is cleared when you close the tab or window, depending on the browser.
If you change language, the site stores maybeyay-language in sessionStorage and as a first-party cookie (path=/, SameSite=Lax) so the next page can stay in that language. This is a preference cookie, not advertising.
Analytics and advertising
MaybeYay does not currently use advertising pixels, analytics products or other non-essential tracking cookies. There is no cookie consent banner because we do not load those technologies.
Stripe Checkout
When you continue to pay, you leave MaybeYay for Stripe’s hosted Checkout. Stripe may set its own necessary cookies under Stripe’s policies. We do not control those cookies.
Fonts
Typefaces are self-hosted on MaybeYay. Pages do not request fonts from Google.
localStorage
MaybeYay does not use localStorage.
Changes
If we later add non-essential analytics or advertising, we will update this policy and ask for consent before those tools run.
